February 9 ..... Make Your Brush
Dance: Bold Florals
Create
florals of lovely color diffusions, energetic brush strokes and dynamic
color combinations in this spontaneous approach to flower painting.
Learn the secret of
effortless painting
and the Zen technique of mindful thinking as you paint.
March 8 ..... Milk on Rice Paper
A 2-day workshop, Day 1
incorporates using cream or whole milk painted onto rice paper. Bring
a roll of rice paper (cheapest at Chinese store in Johnson Terminal at the
Forks) and I will supply the milk/cream.
Studying the Chinese brush stroke and Zen way of painting will
also be discussed.
March 9 ..... Milk on Rice Paper
Part 2
The second day of this
workshop incorporates applying watercolour to the paper and
that is when the ”magic” happens!
April 12 ..... Funky Watercolor
Surfaces
We will alter the paper’s
surface, to create interesting textures. Some of the materials that we
will be using are: Grand Beach sand,
rice paper cheesecloth, tissue paper, and gesso.
May 10 ..... Print Making
Make prints using every day household items. Bring your
watercolours and smooth watercolour paper as well as yupo paper and rice
paper. We will be using water-soluble inks. And do some
imprinting on Styrofoam, too!
